Strawberry Danish Recipe

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day but sometimes its hard to do more than just a granola bar before running out the door in the morning. On a weekend morning that is typically a different story for me. I love lounging around the house and making breakfast as a family while we catch up on the previous week. In honor of Fourth of July I wanted to make a patriotic looking treat that we could enjoy with a hot cup of coffee.

This Strawberry Danish Recipe is something you can make over the weekend in just a few minutes and keep chilled throughout the week for a quick grab and go breakfast as you head out the door. Hickory Farms Fruit Spreads are perfect for adding just the right amount of sweetness to this treat. Preservative free and made with real fruit there is no better way to add just a bit of healthy into a breakfast pastry.

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup Hickory Farms Fruit Spread

Roll out your crescent roll dough. Each danish will use 2 crescent roll triangles. Place 2 together in the shape of a rectangle and work out the seam in the middle with your fingers. One package of rolls should make 4 danishes.

Layer on the fillings beginning with the cream cheese. You want to cover the dough to about 1/2 inch from the edge. Top with the strawberry fruit spread.

Roll up the edges to seal the filling inside and place on a cookie sheet. Repeat until all danishes have been filled and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
