Celebrating our 1st Anniversary

Celebrating our 1st Anniversary

One year ago today Drew & I stood atop the Hyatt in Denver in front of our family and friends to say our vows and become man and wife. Looking back on the last year, its amazing to see all the wonderful things that have happened to help give us the perfect start to our life together.

From buying our first house, to new jobs, to adding our little fur baby into the family, we have had a blessed year and I am grateful for all the people who were apart of helping us have such a successful year. Its been a very busy first year, and I’ve never quite gotten around to sharing some of the fabulous wedding photos shot by Urban Safari, so as I was reflecting on last year, I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

Getting Ready for our Wedding

We included a lot of our personality and history into our wedding day. Drew and I met in college, and while we didn’t seriously date at the time, it was the encouragement of our friends than that lead us to where we are today. We both are members of fraternities, and I loved getting to wear some of our shared love for our organizations on my garter.

Wedding detailsWhen Drew’s sister was married, she used a piece of lace from their Mom’s wedding dress as part of her veil. Drew’s Mom used some of the remaining lace to make handkerchiefs for Drew and his brother for their wedding days.

We were married on the rooftop patio of the Hyatt, nearly immediately following a rather torrential rainstorm. Somehow, the skies dried just barely in time for the seating to be reset and everything to get started right on time.

Looking forward, I’m excited for all the amazing things the future holds, and I’m blessed to have such a wonderful partner by my side for all of it.
