Much thanks to Miss Alta for reminding me of this glorious clip from Mary Poppins. I try to avoid getting really fired up during election season but there nothing that will make me more furious then those who avoid taking the opportunity to cast their ballot, especially women.
It was still less then a hundred years and two generations ago that women did not have the right to vote and I find it heartbreaking when the sacrifices the suffragettes and our soldiers fighting for this right to this day are put to waste.
I know you’ve received dozens of phone calls, hundreds of facebook posts and a seen a few thousand ”I voted’ stickers, but if you haven’t voted yet… go cast your ballot and earn your right to complain for the next four years.
Trying to keep track of everything I read has gotten easier since receiving a Kindle but I still feel like I miss a lot of the non-digital books. I started a ‘to-read’ list in 2010 and the following list is books that I have read, and remember reading since beginning that list. Not counting those I can’t remember, I feel like nearly reading 100 books in two years is doing pretty good.

I love that Amazon recommends things to me based on other items I’ve purchased. Deep down I worry that maybe Amazon might know me better then I know myself.
Today, Amazon has decided to recommend the following…. Young adult desptopian fiction, container gardening, weight lifting and social media… Mmm, what are the internets trying to tell me, that I should eat better, workout more and read sappy emo-fiction….
