When the office is busy, pot luck lunches make it fun to get away from your desk and spend some time with co-workers instead of slamming a grocery store salad at in front of the computer. I used to work at an office where everyone would bring in pumpkin themed food right before Thanksgiving. It was fun to see how everyone took the prompt (pumpkin) and would try to make a semi meal that wasn’t entirely dessert.
Planning a Christmas potluck is a fun way to bring holiday cheer into the office and I’ve put together a list of Christmas Potluck ideas for work that can help you get started.
Planning the perfect Christmas Potluck – Potluck Ideas for Work
Idea 1: Pick a Christmas Potluck theme
Giving a theme helps everyone come up with ideas for what to bring. Friendsgiving is great standby and everyone loves Thanksgiving foods. If you’re all turkey’ed out, maybe a fiesta is a good alternate! Whatever you select, give plenty of time for everyone in the office to choose what they want to bring or make.
Idea 2: Post a sign up
Put up a sign up in a common space so everyone can write down what they plan to bring to the Christmas Potluck. With enough spaces for everyone to write down what they are bringing, it helps make sure that you don’t end up with 5 bags of chips and no entrees!
I made the image above into a Holiday Potluck Signup PDF that you can download and use for your celebration!
Idea 3: Check on plates & silverware
If your office doesn’t have a regular kitchen, make sure that someone signs up to bring those items – otherwise you’ll all be eating off the table!
Idea 4: Bring something everyone will enjoy
After planning the rest of the party, cooking is the last thing on my mind. The Simply Grand Celebration Box from Hickory Farms is a great grab and serve solution that everyone is going to scarf down while the rest of the food is being set up.
With all fresh ingredients, Hickory Farms Simply products are perfect for co-workers who are health conscious and everything is absolutely delicious – all you need to prep is a knife and a dish to put everything out on!
It’s just that easy to be the bringer of Holiday Cheer in your office!
