A Discada, or Cowboy Wok, is a round cooking dish perfect for jazzing up your outdoor cooking routine. With the start of the summer just around the corner I am looking forward to experimenting more with this fun tool.
Traditionally made from a retired plow disc, a Discada is welded closed forming a perfect shallow wok. It’s typically known for Mexican style dishes but due to the size, it’s amazing for large group meals and is an extremely versatile addition to your outdoor kitchen.
I use a 22″ Discada and 12″ burner stand from Carolina Cooker but you can easily personalize a setup that works best for your family. I love how this set up is fairly portable and allows for easy set up no matter where you want to cook out.
I’ve compiled my favorite discada recipes here for you to enjoy, and I’d love to learn what recipes are your favorites. Leave a note in the comments and I’ll keep adding to this list!
