Get in the Holiday Spirit with a Tea Time Collection
It’s early yet to be bringing out the Christmas decorations, but with a limited time between now and the holiday season, it’s just about time to start planning ahead. The holidays are about family, love and the traditions that make December and November a time to remember all year round.
Not being one to really feel Christmas-y until deep into the month of December, getting into a holiday mood is hard, but rekindling the feelings from what makes Christmas special with a hot pot of tea is the best way to get started. For me, getting ready for the holiday season means bundling up in my pjs with a warm blanket, good book and a hot cup of tea. Hickory Farms Tea Time Collection is perfect for just that.
Spending chilly winter nights with my cousins while the adults took turns shopping late night sales is one of my favorite memories of growing up. My Aunt June would fix up a pot of tea, making the night a special occasion, and distracting the rest of us from the presents that were being sneaked into the garage.
As the oldest, I refused to go to bed with the “kids” and would stay up late reading or talking with my aunt while sipping on tea from grownup cups.
In Colorado we don’t always have a lot of snow during the holiday season, but the nights are brisk and warm tea is one of my favorite ways to take the chill out of the evening. Now that I’m making traditions for myself, starting the season with a pot of tea is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit.
As we get closer to the holidays, I’ve been trying out all the flavors of the Ceylon Tea Collection and prepping for the season by making a list of what needs to be done for our first Christmas in our own place. With over 12 flavors of tea to choose from, there is always a type of tea perfect to set the mood of my evening.
So far I have:
- Christmas shopping
- Holiday cards
- Planning outdoor decorations
- Planning indoor decorations (I really want to do a live tree this year. We have hardwood floors and I haven’t had a tree of my own in years, so that will wait until after Thanksgiving.)
Christmas baking is always something I put off until the last minute, but luckily the Tea Time Collection means I can enjoy the treats of the holiday season, without having to bake them up myself. The basket includes Buttery Shortbread Biscuits and a whole assortment of jam perfect for enjoying on top of a cookie.
What am I missing/forgetting? Are there any tips you have for celebrating our first Christmas in a new home?
